Madden NFL 13 predicts Baltimore Ravens to win Super Bowl

Madden NFL 13 has predicted the Baltimore Ravens will win the Super Bowl match-up against the San Francisco 49ers, 27-24.

Call your bookies. EA has issued its annual Super Bowl prediction based on a simulation run in the current version of its long-running Madden series. According to Madden NFL 13, the Baltimore Ravens will squeak out a Super Bowl win against the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 27-24.

Madden predictions tend to be fairly accurate, having called seven of the last nine games correctly. For example, the sim correctly predicted the Giants' victory in last year's game. EA also brags that it was only two points away from the exact final score of the 2009 Super Bowl, but more often than not their points breakdowns are a bit off. That's partly because the simulation shows such specific detail. In the case of Ravens-49ers, it predicts a Ravens 17-10 lead at halftime and a last-minute interception to prevent the 49ers from scoring a game-winning touchdown. Whatever does happen, it probably won't be exactly like that.

I would say there's a 90% chance Madden has never played any of the games that bear his name

if madden was involved with the games there'd be no reason to pick any team other than the packers, and rodgers would magically turn into brett favre

I could believe that, although the dev team says he gives them a lot of feedback

I'm sure he gives them some valuable stuff on plays and playcalling and whatever else, and he probably has stuff to say if the game looks good/bad and what new features they've implemented but I would still wager he doesn't play it. he just doesn't seem like that kind of guy.
