Rumor: Tomb Raider to feature multiplayer
by Steve Watts, Dec 27, 2012 7:40pm PSTLara may be getting some company for her series reboot. A retail listing seems to have outed possible online modes in the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot, promising "a variety of multiplayer modes as Lara's Shipmates or Yamatai's Scavengers."
The apparent leak came from the UK retailer GAME (via Joystiq), although the reference has since been removed. Publisher Square Enix recently promised an announcement that will "change the way you play Tomb Raider."
This wouldn't be Lara's first time taking on a partner, as Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light included co-op. It would, however, be the first time multiplayer appeared in a more traditional Tomb Raider title. Shacknews has contacted Square Enix and will update as more information becomes available.
