Metro: Last Light and Company of Heroes 2 coming in March 2013
by Andrew Yoon, Nov 05, 2012 1:45pm PSTTwo of THQ's most anticipated games are now expected to ship in March, "later than initially planned."
Metro: Last Light, a first-person shooter from 4A Games, was already delayed to Q1, but now we're certain of its March release. Company of Heroes 2, a long-awaited RTS sequel, has also been delayed. But hey, at least you know what pre-order bonuses you'll get.
"When I joined THQ the company made a public commitment to quality titles. We always expected that in some cases this would mean that more time would be needed to make sure that every title is of the highest possible quality," THQ's new president Jason Rubin said in the announcement. "Giving both of these titles time to reach their full potential is the right thing to do for the products."
Given THQ's financial struggles, the delay will be costly to the company. However, Rubin is confident that "releasing our fourth quarter titles without extra time for polish in the current environment would lead to underperformance that could in turn lead to future additional capital shortfalls."
