Wii price cut to $130 in new black bundle

Nintendo's Wii U launches in North America on November 18, but the original Wii will surely still be a hot seller this holiday season. To help shove it along, Nintendo today announced plans that it's cutting the Wii's price to only $129.99 later this month, in a bundle with a black console, one Wii Remote Plus with Nunchuck, and both Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort.

Excepted to be on store shelves by October 28, this new bundle will replace Nintendo's old $150 pack with a black Wii and a copy of New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

"Nearly six years after it launched, people are still attracted to the pure, inclusive fun of the Wii console," said Nintendo of America executive sales & marketing VP Scott Moffitt declared in today's announcement. "A new suggested retail price and the inclusion of two great games make it an easy choice for families looking for a great value this holiday season."

The cheapest of the Wii U's two editions will cost $299.99, so a cheaper option will be tempting for some of the few households still without a Wii. The Wii U will have 23 titles on launch day.
