Bethesda opens Battlecry Studios in Austin
by John Keefer, Oct 03, 2012 1:30pm PDTHaving one high-profile development team in Austin, apparently is not enough for Bethesda. In addition to Dishonored team Arkane Studios, Bethesda has announced the formation of Battlecry Studios, headed by industry veteran Rich Vogel.
"I have always admired and respected Bethesda's approach to making great, original games," said Vogel, who recently worked for BioWare Austin on Star Wars: The Old Republic. "It's a belief and passion I share, and I'm looking forward to building a team of high quality developers who want to bring that same commitment and creative energy to the games we'll be creating."
Jobs for Battlecry have already been posted, including calls for an art director, lead designer and production director. No word on what the first title will be or what platforms, but with Vogel's history on Ultima Online, as well as Star Wars: Galaxies and The Old Republic, it isn't a stretch to think that a new online RPG may be on the drawing board.
