First batch of titles gets Steam Greenlight

Steam Greenlight launched on August 30 to much fanfare--and numerous pranksters--but Valve has announced that 10 titles garnered enough fan support to get a coveted spot on Steam in the coming months.

Among the games that will show up is the highly anticipated Black Mesa, the fan remake of the original Half-Life using the Source engine. The game is launching later this week.

Other titles include:

• Cry of Fear -- ruMpel

• Dream -- HyperSloth

• Heroes & Generals -- Reto-Moto

• Kenshi -- Captain Deathbeard

• McPixel -- Sos Sosowski

• No More Room in Hell -- NMRiH dev team

• Project Zomboid -- The Indie Stone

• Routine -- Aaron Foster

• Towns -- supermalpant

"The Steam community rallied around these titles and made them the clear choice for the first set of titles to launch out of Greenlight," said Anna Sweet of Valve in a release. "Since launch, hundreds of titles have been submitted, with more coming in every day. We expect to be announcing more titles coming to Steam via Greenlight soon."

The games are in various stages of completion and will be released independently when they are ready.
