Skyrim's Hearthfire unrelated to PS3 Dawnguard delay
by Steve Watts, Aug 29, 2012 1:45pm PDTThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is getting a homey touch with Hearthfire next week, set to hit the Xbox 360 first as part of an exclusivity arrangement with Microsoft. Some PlayStation 3 players are feeling a bit put out, and Bethesda has assured fans that the PS3 Dawnguard delay is unrelated to the newly announced DLC.
The 360 deal was a known factor, but PS3 players probably didn't expect Microsoft's platform would get a second downloadable expansion before they even got one. Bethesda's Pete Hines stepped in to clarify that the team is still working on both, not prioritizing one over the other.
"We are working on multiple projects, even beyond those two things," Hines tweeted. "The entire team doesn't work on one thing at a time."
It may not be much comfort to PlayStation 3 owners who want to become Vampire Lords, but at least this means you haven't been shoved aside in favor of a family and home building simulator. Hearthfire is due September 4.
