Red Bull Crashed Ice Kinect is Xbox's next advergame
by Andrew Yoon, Aug 28, 2012 1:00pm PDTUpdate: Added additional comment from Red Bull PR.
Xbox has been home to a number of advergames: Yaris, Crash Course, Dash of Destruction, Sneak King, and most recently, World Gone Sour. The next advergame is coming from the popular energy drink, Red Bull.
Red Bull Crashed Ice Kinect pretty much tells you everything you need to know in its title. Using Kinect, you'll partake in the sport of crashed ice, which involves downhill skating on an ice track with steep turns and vertical drops.
According to VentureBeat, the game will make its debut at PAX Prime in Seattle. It will feature both split-screen multiplayer and online play as well. Unlike many advergames, the title won't be free. In fact, Red Bull views this as "a true co-publishing scenario," as the company has been making mobile games for years. "This is their first-ever console title," a PR rep advised us.
