Hearthfire add-on for Skyrim coming September 4
by John Keefer, Aug 28, 2012 7:45am PDTWe knew something was coming when Bethesda trademarked Hearthfire more than a week ago, but now we know it is a new add-on for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that will allow you to make the game just a bit more homey for your character.
You can purchase land and build a cottage with a kitchen, or something more spectacular that includes an armory. You can even get a steward to do the work for you. If you have some gaming paternal or maternal instincts, then you can adopt some kids. There is a mod currently available through Steam that does something similar, but without the kids.
As of now, Hearthfire is coming on September 4 only for Xbox 360 for 400 Microsoft Points. No official word on when a PC or PS3 version will be available, but if it was like Dawnguard, expect to wait another month or so.
