Broken Sword: The Serpent's Curse joins Kickstarter to go publisher-free
by Steve Watts, Aug 23, 2012 11:00am PDTAnother long-running adventure series is seeking crowd funding through Kickstarter. Broken Sword: The Serpent's Curse from Charles Cecil and Revolution Software is seeking $400,000 in an attempt to break away from the "traditional publishing model."
"The traditional publishing model has prevented us receiving the required royalties to fund future games," says the Kickstarter announcement. "With limited financial reserves we have been unable to fund our own titles and so we have not benefited from their success. Now you can help us to change this."
The team has reconstructed most of the original developers, including the voice actor behind George and various 2D artists picked from various studios. Pledges start at $15, which includes a pre-order for the game.
