Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 final DLC dated and detailed
by Alice O'Connor, Aug 02, 2012 1:00pm PDTFresh off revealing that the third round of DLC for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will introduce a proper pilotable helicopter, Activision has dropped more info on the rest of that DLC as well as the fourth and final pack. While the third pack brings Special Ops missions, the fourth packs five new maps for straight-up multiplayer murdering.
Along with the previously-revealed Special Delivery and Light 'Em Up missions, Spec Ops mode will get Vertigo and Arctic Recon. The Chaos Pack also packs three new Face Off maps--Vortex, U-Turn and Intersection--and the new Spec Ops Chaos Mode, a wave survival affair played on the regular multiplayer maps Resistance, Village, Underground and Dome.
The Chaos Pack will debut on Xbox 360 on August 9. Then, September 9 will bring the fourth and final DLC collection, Final Assault, a multiplayer map-o-rama with five new battlefields for conventional face-shooting modes. Here's how Activision describes them:
"Gulch" sends combatants into a forgotten mining town with mine shafts and equipment sheds for cover. In "Boardwalk," fun in the sun on the Jersey Shore means facing enemies on the beach. "Offshore" and "Decommission" will test players' sea legs on deadly oceanic oilrigs and among a maze of rotting ocean liners respectively. Rounding out the collection is a trip to the French Quarter in a war-torn New Orleans, where "Parish" pits players against one another amidst the city's rubble.
Of course, the dates get a bit complicated. Call of Duty Elite subscribers get the DLC a bit early, though Activision hasn't said quite when yet. PC and PlayStation 3 will see the DLC after about a month of exclusivity. They'll each cost $15 (1,200 Microsoft Points), or are included with CoD Elite.
