Dishonored's UI options are exciting
by Alice O'Connor, Jul 16, 2012 6:45am PDTThere is little more exciting in video games, we all know, than a robust options menu. How thoroughly splendid, then, that Arkane has crammed Dishonored full of options for messing with everything from field of view and mouse smoothing to objective markers and even outright disabling the UI.
Publisher Bethesda whipped together a blog post showing off how Dishonored will let you tweak almost everything that people gripe about when a new game comes out, especially on PC. Are grenade markers for babies? Turn them off! Like to see more? Crank up the FoV! Find mouse smoothing and acceleration infuriating? Of course you do, you're only human, so turn them off.
So few games offer this much control over the UI, especially on PC nowadays, so it's a real treat.
Dishonored is coming to PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 9. If you're excited by the options menu, you'll be thrilled by the E3 gameplay walkthroughs, showing how Deus Ex designer Harvey Smith and the rest of the gang at Arkane let you be as sneaky or as shooty as you please.
