Kid Icarus studio Project Sora closed
by Steve Watts, Jul 11, 2012 6:15am PDTProject Sora, the studio behind Kid Icarus: Uprising, has been closed. The company announced that it was dissolved as of June 30, though studio founder Masahiro Sakurai is still working on projects for Nintendo in his own capacity.
The announcement came from the company Web site (via Andriasang). The studio was formed in 2009 as a second-party venture for Nintendo, with Sakurai taking the lead hot on the heels of Super Smash Bros Brawl. Kid Icarus: Uprising was the studio's only game.
Sakurai himself is still working as the director for the next Smash Bros game, which is being developed by Namco Bandai.
