Halo 4 getting 50 episodic missions, more
by John Keefer, Jun 27, 2012 9:00am PDTA Microsoft site designed to update and inform retailers about its games has revealed plenty of new details about Halo 4, including the number of multiplayer maps and episodic missions, as well as new weapons and vehicles.
The LittleEnglishHaloblog (via Eurogamer) put together all the details from Microsoft's ExpertZone, which offered a quiz about the company's flagship game. The information confirms 10 new weapons for the game, including the Forerunner Light Rifle and Scattershot shown at E3, and two new vehicles.
One of the biggest questions fans had after the E3 showing was how many episodes would encompass a season for the Spartan Ops co-op mode. Microsoft had said one story-based piece of game fiction would be released free as DLC each week, with five missions associated with each story. The site reveals that there will be 50 missions (or 10 weeks of episodes) in Season One. These missions should add about 12 hours of extra gameplay.
For the War Zone multiplayer, there will be 10 new maps, with more planned via DLC.
Halo 4 is scheduled to be released on November 6 for the Xbox 360.
