Shadow of the Colossus movie gets Chronicle director
by Andrew Yoon, May 23, 2012 8:45pm PDTIt's been a long time since we've heard from Sony about their plans to adapt Shadow of the Colossus into a film. However, the project is apparently still alive. According to a new report, Josh Trank, director of the recent Chronicle has been signed to lead the project.
According to Deadline (via Joystiq), Trank has been a fan of the classic PS2 game and "sought out the job." The studio is currently interviewing writers for the treatment, suggesting the movie's original script by Justin Marks (Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li) is no longer in consideration.
The long-stalled project may not make it into theaters any time soon, however. In addition this film, Trank is apparently also attached to three other movies: Fantastic Four, Venom, and Red Star. Of course, Team Ico fans are no strangers to waiting--so it's unlikely they'll mind.

srsly, most films are bad, most fiction is poorly written, and so far no one's really made a case against anything I've said..I mean, 'it did better at box office than expected' and 'doesn't mean it was bad' are hardly compelling statements concerning the quality of this flim. If anything it just reinforces my perception of it, and films like it, which have similar themes/adverts/plots. I fully expect to see a film like other films I've seen and there to be some kind of generic hook people thought was cool even though it's been done countless times before, but hey, if it's really a good film then I'll enjoy it, but given the response in this thread I doubt that's the case....I mean, just lol.
