As promised, Bethesda's Kinect-powered update to Skyrim is going live tomorrow. The patch will enable a variety of voice commands, such as quick access to the map and saving. However, the most exciting aspect of the new functionality is the ability to shout commands--in English or Dragon Language. You'll be able to yell "Unrelenting Force" to your Kinect sensor. Or, if you're wearing the appropriate attire, you'll be able to yell "Fus Ro Dah." But what else can you do? Bethesda has released the complete list of commands for you to peruse.

Commands can be spoken in English and Dragon Language

probably not worth taking the time to do it, for the 3 people who bought a kinect for pc

Uses the Kinect speech processing libraries, probably. Would be more effort to do it on a PC without them.

It would make sense if Kinect used the dx input API, I can't see them adding an whole new API to the 360. And if that is the case, its already integrated in windows and would just require a headset.. The true quotation is what PC player would want to use it?

Could be cool on PC... if you could hook up the xbox kinect to it. No way im wasting another £100 quid on one of those!!

Didn't they get the idea from a PC modder? I remember seeing videos of voice activated shouts not long after Skyrim's release.

Yup, I think the guy who made it expanded the kinect integration so that you could play the whole game using kinect. Also his use of voice commands were more advanced e.g. equiping different items.

      That is pretty damn cool.

      A shame I don't like the game.

I look forward to the day where we can not only yell commands, but actually have proper conversations with the NPC's.

I prefer to have conversations with real people in real life and to play video games when I'm playing video games.
