Early adopters of the PS Vita knew upfront before the handheld launched in December that PSOne games would not be compatible as they were on the PSP. They were assured that the games would eventually be coming. One has finally appeared, but it doesn't work.
Buried in the PlayStation Store this week, the PSOne title Buzz Lightyear of Star Command was found for Vita. A user on NeoGAF was able to grab the game, but received error messages when trying to play it, even though the Vita's recently added PSP emulator popped up.
A recent tweet by Shuhei Yoshida, Sony's president of worldwide studios, told Vita users to continue to be patient. "Our engineers are working hard on it. Pls be patient," he responded to a player pointing out that the content was supposedly coming "soon" two months ago. In a later tweet to someone asking about the same question, he said he could not talk about the timing.
So, PSOne content is still coming. Unfortunately Vita users must continue to standby.
