Ex-CoD strategist unveils new studio Robotoki
by John Keefer, Apr 24, 2012 6:45am PDTLess than a month after abruptly leaving Activision and Infinity Ward, former Call of Duty community manager and creative strategist Robert Bowling announces his new game development studio, Robotoki.
The new venture is totally self-funded, Bowling told Game Informer. The goal is to allow the development team to retain their own creative vision.
"Robotoki is focused on being a developer development studio that just happens to make games. We are focused on our team first and everything else second, because I believe as an industry; we have a lot to learn on how to treat talent. While we continue to out stride film and music entertainment in other areas, we are falling severely behind in how to properly inspire and support our creative talent."
Bowling had hinted that he was working on another studio only a few days after his departure from Activision when, via Twitter, he appealed to developers laid off by THQ to contact him if they wanted a fresh start.
The studio is hiring through its website and will announce its first project later this year.
