Wrath of Heroes enters open beta
by John Keefer, Apr 10, 2012 7:30am PDTArena-style player-vs.-player combat has never been my cup of tea, but I do enjoy the Warhammer universe. So I greet today's Warhammer Online: Wrath of Heroes open beta announcement with a mixed reaction. The good news: It's free to play. The bad news: I'll probably suck at it.
The game, based off the MMO Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, is designed for close combat. Players can just go to the website, sign up and begin playing three-team arena matches. They will be able to choose from established Warhammer heroes, with six players per team. Throwing 18 players into a PvP frenzy should get pretty intense.
According to the release, "This cutthroat setup creates highly dynamic matches where teams constantly live on the edge of victory or defeat and alliances are quickly formed and just as quickly forgotten. With the instant playability of battles that last an intense 15 minutes, a small download size, and no cost to enter, Wrath of Heroes can scratch the competitive PvP itch for gamers of any type."
All you need is an email address to download the client and begin playing.

If you can't get enough of Warhammer Online, then you'll want to try Wrath of Heroes, a new free-to-play PvP title in the Warhammer universe just entering open beta.
