EscapeVektor coming to 3DS, Vita
by Steve Watts, Feb 24, 2012 4:15pm PSTNnooo has announced that the retro WiiWare title escapeVektor will be coming to both the Nintendo 3DS and the PlayStation Vita. The new versions will feature new enemies, stage obstacles, stages, and online leaderboards. Nnooo also detailed how the game will take advantage of each system's unique features.
On the 3DS, the background pulses in 3D to the soundtrack. The developer is more cautious with its language for the PlayStation Vita, but has tentative plans to use Near for location-based leaderboards, and will be "experimenting" with front and rear touch controls.
"We were delighted by the reception the WiiWare version of the game received," said creative director Nic Watt in the announcement. "We originally planned to have four Chapters but have now decided to roll them all into one game and bring it out on these new consoles to reach a wider audience."
This means the other WiiWare chapters have been scuttled, as the company confirmed to Nintendo Life. No release date has been set for the portable versions, but we'll get our first look at the upcoming Game Developers Conference.
