Gran Turismo 5 XL releases January 17, includes $20 DLC voucher
by Andrew Yoon, Jan 06, 2012 10:00am PSTEagle-eyed observers spotted Gran Turismo 5 XL late last year. Today, Sony has officially announced the updated re-release.
As expected, XL includes the original game and all the new features added by the sizable Spec 2.0 update, which released late last year. As an added bonus, the XL Edition will also include a voucher for over $20 worth of DLC.
The downloadable bonuses include the Racing Car Pack, Car Pack 2, Course Pack, Racing Gear Pack, and Paint Pack. These add-ons will not be included on the disc.
As with many of Sony's recent PS3 games, the XL Edition will also include a reversible cover sheet that features the Red Bull X2011 supercar. You can see what it looks like on the PlayStation.Blog.
The XL Edition will be available for $39.99 on January 17th. While it's likely to be the definitive GT5 retail release, Sony promises that additional updates to the game, including DLC and Gran Turismo TV content, are still in the works.
