Notch dubs 48-hour game 'MiniTale'
by Steve Watts, Jan 02, 2012 9:00am PSTMinecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson recently took part in a 48-hour game creation challenge, resulting in the overhead 2D rogue-like Minicraft. Now the game has been gotten a new name, MiniTale, and its own dedicated URLs to match.
Persson tweeted the new name, and announced that he had gained domain names for it. The sites vaguely promise "Coming Eventually." On his blog, he described the game as "a Zelda-ish top down game with crafting influences from Minecraft."
Previously, Persson had announced a sequel to the game, so MiniTale could be the name for an eventual, full release of its follow-up. If you're curious, you can try out Minicraft for free.
