XCOM delayed into 'fiscal 2013'
by Andrew Yoon, Nov 08, 2011 2:00pm PST2K Games' revamped take on XCOM was originally scheduled to release on March 6, the same day as Mass Effect 3. The publisher has announced a delay for the game into "fiscal 2013," which begins on April 1 of next year.
It's currently unclear if the delay is simply due to marketing, and wanting to avoid conflicting with Mass Effect 3, or if development issues are at hand. This isn't the first time XCOM has stumbled, having already undergone significant changes since the departure of its studio head.
More disconcerting is the fact that although BioShock Infinite is confirmed for calendar year 2012, while XCOM is not. Potentially, the delay could push the game into 2013.
