War of the Worlds coming to Xbox 360 October 26
by Steve Watts, Oct 14, 2011 5:15pm PDTThe War of the Worlds game is coming to Xbox Live Arcade October 26, developer Other Ocean Interactive announced today. The PC and PlayStation 3 versions are still said to be coming "soon," though no firm release date has been set.
The game takes its cues from the 1953 adaptation, running a parallel storyline with new characters and locations. That means no Tom Cruise, which must just break your heart.
The announcement came from the game's Facebook page. The Facebook site is also holding a contest to win a game download, DVD of the 1953 film, and a video game poster. To enter, you have to Like the game on Facebook, which will grant you access to answering which version of the story is superior: the 1898 novel, 1953 film, or 2005 film. Once you pick your answer, you're entered in the contest.

The pc rts game that came out in 1998 was a lot of fun.
