Peggle reaches 30 million downloads
by Andrew Yoon, Aug 26, 2011 12:15am PDTPopCap's odd unicorn-starring, ball-busting puzzle game, Peggle, has reached more than 30 million downloads since its debut in 2007. Sure, that's across a number of releases on nearly every platform imaginable, but that's still an impressive feat nonetheless.
Given those kinds of numbers, it doesn't seem too surprising why EA bought the company for as much as it did.
Coinciding with the sales milestone is Peggle's expansion to yet another platform: iPad. Peggle HD will be available at a "special introductory price" of $2.99, and includes Game Center support. In addition, the Peggle Nights expansion pack can be purchased for $0.99 more.
The iPad release is just the latest for the ever-expanding franchise; the series has already graced the PC, Mac, Nintendo DS, PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and iPod.
