Dungeon Defenders releases on October 19
by Andrew Yoon, Aug 23, 2011 4:00pm PDTPopular Unreal Engine-powered mobile game Dungeon Defenders is jumping from iOS/Android to consoles and the PC. Trendy Entertainment's hack 'n slash will be available on Xbox Live Arcade and PC on October 19 for $14.99 (1200 Microsoft Points).
“The console version of Dungeon Defenders has more content, more depth and more challenge than many full retail boxed games," Trendy's Jeremy Stieglitz claimed. "So we can’t wait to get it into players’ hands so they can experience this epic role playing game as it was intended to be played."
Perhaps one of Dungeon Defenders' biggest innovations is its use of GameSpy's "Open" program, which enables cross-platform multiplayer. PC, Android, iOS and PS3 players will all be able to play with each other simultaneously. (Xbox Live players, unfortunately, will not be able to join in on the fun.)
