Resistance: Burning Skies announced for PS Vita
by Steve Watts, Aug 16, 2011 11:00am PDTAt Sony's Gamescom press briefing, the company announced a new Resistance game for PlayStation Vita, titled Resistance: Burning Skies. Nihilistic Software (PlayStation Move Heroes) is developing the first-person shooter, which takes place before Resistance 2 and stars an all-new protagonist.
Our new hero is a firefighter, complete with a fire axe that can be used to break through obstacles and melee Chimera. The game makes use of the touchscreen by offering a virtual button for the melee attack, along with alt-fire functions and grenade aiming. The gameplay demonstration was brief, but Sony emphasized how dual-sticks make the button configuration similar to its console counterparts.
