FIFA Street returning in 2012
by Alice O'Connor, Aug 16, 2011 7:30am PDTIt's not quite 'jumpers for goalposts,' but EA has announced at Gamescom that it's bringing back its bare-knuckle street football series FIFA Street next year. The new game, named simply FIFA Street, is being made by FIFA 12 developer EA Canada upon the same engine.
FIFA Street will offer a more extravagant take on kicking balls, with fancy flicks, tricks and everything else you'd expect from a cocky git showing off down the park. It'll boast urban footie arenas in 35 locations, including London, Rio, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Munich, and New York.
EA Sports Season Ticket subscribers will get perks for FIFA Street too, in the form of an early full game download. Street also hook into the EA Sports Football Club social features.
The new FIFA Street will be released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in "early 2012."
