FIFA 12 releases September, promises PC parity
by Steve Watts, Jun 22, 2011 12:45pm PDTFIFA Soccer 12 will be hitting stores in September, just in time for Americans to pretend they like soccer again. Eurogamer reports that the game is due on September 27 in North America, and worldwide on September 30. EA is planning to release a version for just about every system imaginable: PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, iPhone, iPad, 3DS, PlayStation Portable, and PlayStation 2. (Note the absence of a DS version?)
In an effort to put reassure PC fans, EA has claimed that the PC version performs just as well as its console counterparts. The game will be running an identical engine and feature set on PC and console for the first time in the series history.
"This is the moment all PC gamers have been waiting for, as they are finally going to fully experience the award-winning FIFA gameplay on their preferred platform," said executive producer Kaz Makita. "PC fans are going to enjoy the highest quality gameplay, deepest game modes and truest graphics ever developed for the platform, including our new live service EA Sports Football Club."
