Backbreaker: Vengeance touching down on XBLA next week
by Alice O'Connor, Jun 22, 2011 1:30pm PDTNaturalMotion's downloadable American football spin-off Backbreaker: Vengeance is headed to an Xbox Live Arcade release on June 29, publisher 505 Games has announced.
Vengeance is based upon 2010 handball game Backbreaker's 'Tackle Alley' mode. As the new trailer below from one multiplayer battle shows, it involves charging down a course with an American football in your hands, dodging obstacles, barging other players, and hitting bonus point markers, headed for the end zone and a glorious touchdown.
While Backbreaker: Vengeance is only coming to Xbox Live Arcade in North America, curiously, Europe is also receiving a PlayStation Network version later this summer. Presumably there's some manner of exclusivity deal or odd licensing arrangement in place, as we Europeans are hardly known for our love of the sport.
