Cave Story 3D delayed to August

Cave Story 3D has been moved from its June 28 release date to August 8, according to the NIS America pre-order page.

Publisher NIS America has provided a release date for Cave Story 3D, and it's a little later than we had previously heard. A batch of summer release plans from Nintendo listed the game for June 28, but now the game's pre-order page says August 8 instead. No reason was given for the change.

Cave Story 3D is the Nintendo 3DS incarnation of the indie hit Cave Story, which already came to Nintendo platforms not once, but twice. Both WiiWare and DSiWare have gotten releases, but Cave Story 3D ups the ante with a new 3D presentation, more areas to explore, and some easter eggs.

If you'd rather play it now, both the WiiWare and DSiWare incarnations are available for $12 and $10, respectively, and the early PC version is still free.
