Red Faction: Armageddon pre-order bonuses revealed
by Steve Watts, Mar 29, 2011 1:30pm PDTTHQ and Volition unveiled the inevitable Red Faction Armageddon retailer-specific pre-order bonuses today.
GameStop and Amazon pre-orders will get a free copy of Red Faction: Battlegrounds for Xbox Live Arcade or PSN download -- an offer already extended to PlayStation Plus users.
In addition, GameStop pre-orders will get the Commando Pack, which includes a uniform, Plasma Thrower (to "spray an unforgiving stream of destruction"), and dual Laser Pistols. Speaking of virtual goods, Best Buy orders get a Recon pack: a recon uniform for snipers and spies, the Arc Welder, and the XNG-5000 -- the latter of which seeks out enemies and dissolves them. I think I've had nightmares like that.
Walmart is the only retailer giving out a physical item: a comic book prequel to the events of Armageddon. The book also includes a "mini-strategy guide" for the game.
The game is due on May 31. Check out our recent hands-on preview for more details.

The missions are bland and all most every mission is to follow the AI half of the play time is waiting for the AI to catch up and then you better hope you are in a wide area as other wise you get blocked in and unable to push past.
The tigger points are buggy and can take forever to get workingoh look that simple door can not be opend by you the AI has to oh look he is standing next to it 2 mins later still standing you run around abit and at last you trip over a dev tigger point and he opens the door.
The AI at best is stupid yes they take cover but half the time they never seem to be shooting and when they do there aim is so far off you start to wounder what the AI was made to shoot at since it is quite clear 90% of the time its not you or any AI squad mates.
The guns all feel the same only change on most seems to be there rate of fire apart form the sniper rifles the damage all seems to be the same.
Grenades seem abit buggy they can instant kill when you are behind cover and there half away across the map other times they can land at your feet only to deal no damage or not enough to know about it.
The sounds are quite bad the guns do not sound like guns to be more like some kind of high tec toy gun.
The best part of the game was the flying mission that was fun the only real good part of the game over all it would be hard to clame its worth half price.
