RuneScape devs making Transformers MMO
RuneScape developer Jagex is now working on a Transformers MMO, set to release sometime in 2012.
A new massively multiplayer game from the developers of RuneScape is in the works, and this one stars a few familiar faces. Hasbro and developer Jagex Games Studio today announced a Transformers MMO to launch in North America, Latin America, Europe, New Zealand, and Australia in 2012. Jagex has experience with more than 40 online games, including RuneScape.
"Transformers is one of the most iconic brands in the world and we are delighted to team up with Hasbro in order to bring our shared vision to reality," said Jagex CEO Mark Gerhard in the announcement. "There is a huge appetite for an online Transformers game and we will utilize every bit of our development and publishing expertise to deliver a dynamic and action-packed game that Transformers fans will find irresistible."
By "irresistible," we can only hope he means "based on G1 Transformers" and "you get to smash things as Grimlock." Come on, Gerhard, don't let us down.

I just follow orders, honest. I think the plan is to eventually automate the summary process so it's in the same box that you see the "Comment on Runescape blah blah," but for now we're supposed to be making summaries on each of our news posts.
Also, this name is sacred to my family and you've insulted our honor. Expect me at the stroke of midnight. -

From what I've read on the Allspark.com and TFW2005.com this MMO will be based upon the Transformers: Prime continuity, not the Generation 1 continuity.
I'm all for more transformers video games, but here's hoping it's decent. We finally got a Transformers game that was worth a damn in War for Cybertron, I'd hate to see the franchise backslide right back into crappy games.
