Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Confirms Some Modes and Details "License Cards"
by Brian Leahy, Nov 30, 2010 12:20pm PSTCapcom's next fighting game, Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, will be shipping with the requisite fighting game modes of arcade and versus along with online play. Okay, what else?Capcom has also confirmed "Mission" mode where "users can train themselves with a series of character specific challenges. This sounds very similar to the trials challenges in the Street Fighter IV series, which sought to teach users different combos and moves for each character.
Additionally, MvC3 will feature a "license card" (pictured above) that will detail a player's style, win-loss record, and preferred team. This is an unsurprising feature as Tatsunoko vs. Capcom included a similar feature and producer Ryota Niitsuma is also helming MvC3. It also shows earned "PP", which will probably be used to roughly estimate the amount of wins similar to Street Fighter IV, though concrete details are light
"The data in the license card will allow you to see positive and negative points about your play style. By reviewing player data online, you can find friends and rivals to play against and then do 'recon' as the fight starts-up. The license card will allow you to see who an opponents favorite team of characters is, number of wins and losses, what kind of attacks they like and much more."
Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on February 15, 2011.
