Black Isle's 'Icewind Dale 2: Complete' Joins the Good Old Games Family

Yet another masterpiece role-playing title in the Forgotten Realms fantasy setting has been added to the Good Old Games catalog, almost making us forget the nonsense marketing plan the DRM-hating digital distribution service launched in September.

Icewind Dale 2: Complete is now available for $9.99 and includes the original title and the "Adventure" expansion pack.

Developed by Black Isle Studios--known for everything you loved about PC gaming in the late 90s, early aughts--Icewind Dale 2 was originally released in 2002. The Good Old Games release also includes a digital manual; wallpapers, artworks and avatars; a "book of spells"; and the game's lovely soundtrack.

What the game does not include is a magic potion that would reunite the Black Isle team in its entirety to create a new fantasy adventure.

This game lacked the really immersive story elements that the Baldur's Gate franchise had, but it was fun nonetheless. Especially if you enjoy the tactical aspects of DnD-based games.

while this is a great addition to GoG, I'm drooling in anticipation for baldur's gate 2 which i'm hoping gets added soon with this trend of releases, i still have it on disc but want to add it to my digital collection.

I'm currently playing BG2 through again :D First time I've used the G3 Fixpack and Unfinished Business Mod, it really does improve the game no end!

Just about to face "you know who" in Spellhold. :D

I feel certain BG2 is coming, and probably the final game on their list of Hasbro titles.
