Dragon Age Legends Facebook Game Coming in February; Unlocks Items in Dragon Age 2
by Xav de Matos, Nov 03, 2010 11:20am PDTIf you feared there was a serious lack of Dragon Age love on Facebook, we have some great news: EA is launching a strategy RPG on the social media site this February.
Dragon Age Legends is give players their "first taste" of the Free Marches, the setting of Dragon Age 2. "Dragon Age Legends will deliver a deep, sophisticated experience, and we will continue to delight gamers by adding new features and content far into the future," EA 2D general manager Mark Spenner said, presumably trying to forget what a world comprised of wholly of darkspawn, blood, and death tastes like.
More importantly, playing Dragon Age Legends will unlock items within Dragon Age 2. Sadly, details on what content you'll receive is unclear.
According to EA, Dragon Age Legends will allow players to "take on challenging quests within an engaging storyline, earning loot, sharing rewards and growing their kingdom," with their Facebook friends. The game will also feature character customization and an upgrade system.
EA plans to launch a beta for the Facebook title, starting in January. Invites will go to users with EA accounts who use Facebook and subscribe to the Dragon Age newsletter. Those interested can also sign up for beta info on the Facebook title's official website.
As a tie-in to Dragon Age: Origins, EA launched a flash title entited Dragon Age: Journeys on its own dedicated website. Like Legends, the flash game told a side story within the Dragon Age universe and unlocked items items in the retail RPG adventure.

I remember them doing this with DAO as well and people opposed it, they made a flash game back then but now a facebook game? What about people who don't have/want a facebook account.
Seriously this is just beyond retarded.
Facebook is a pox on gaming.
