Nintendo Announces Red Wii and DSi XL Bundles for Mario's 25th Anniversary
by Alice O'Connor, Oct 21, 2010 1:20pm PDTAs part of its celebrations for the 25th anniversary of Mario Mario's debut appearance in Super Mario Bros., Nintendo has announced special red editions of the Wii and DSi XL.

The limited edition red Wii will come in a $199.99 bundle with New Super Mario Bros. Wii as well as Wii Sports and a red Wii Remote Plus--the fancy new controller with the sensitivity-increasing MotionPlus peripheral built in. Wii Sports Resort, which has been bundled with new Wiis
since May, is not included, replaced by New Super Mario Bros.
The $179.99 DSi XL bundle packs a red edition of the oversized handheld emblazoned with some Mario artwork, Mario Kart DS and the regular DSiWare pack-in titles Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters, Brain Age Express: Math and Photo Clock.
The red bundles were announced for Japan and Europe earlier this month. The DSi XL will be out in Europe on October 22, followed by the Wii on October 29.
We imagine we'll see Nintendo confirm that the massive Super Mario Collection will also be released in North America, as Nintendo has already revealed that it'll be released in Europe as well as Japan. Packing Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, a booklet on the history of Mario and a CD of Mario music, it's due out in Japan on October 23 then in Europe on December 3.
