Aliens: Colonial Marines Teased at PAX 2010
by Alice O'Connor, Sep 06, 2010 11:00am PDTThough Gearbox was unsurprisingly focused on the news that it's helming Duke Nukem Forever and now owns the Duke property, at PAX the Borderlands developer gave a short update on its mysterious Aliens: Colonial Marines.
Several screenshots, hastily photographed [left] by Kotaku, of the four-player co-op shooter based upon the sci-fi action film were shown to a PAX panel audience.
"Our commitment is unfaltering," Game Informer quoted Gearbox president Randy Pitchford as saying during the panel session. "We're going to make this awesome. I promise it won't take longer to develop than Duke Nukem Forever."
Colonial Marines was formally announced in February 2008 but aside from a round of screenshots and leaked gameplay footage, little has been seen or heard from it since.
Publisher Sega once had the game scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2009. However, it was then delayed following the announcement of Rebellion's Aliens vs. Predator, which was released in February 2010. Sega has said that the release date of Colonial Marines could also be affected by the sales performance of AvP.

.....which isn't really much of a positive comment. It's existence was announced back in *2006* and we've still been bugger all? I just hope that when it does finally surface, it doesn't end up a disappointment like the last AvP game was :(
