Just played through the Vanquish demo. "Gears of War on crack with a fancy suit and giant robots" is what I came away with. I love a lot of things about it and I'm probably sold on it. I did have a hard time gauging damage taken from enemies until the automatic bullet time kicked in. It seems like you're under constant "small" fire and as long as you don't subject yourself to entire volleys, you'll come out without a scratch. Only the larger attacks (giant frickin lasers, giant cannon) seemed to pose much of a threat if you got hit by them. Hopefully they ramp up the challenge as the game goes on.
