By Alice O'Connor, Aug 13, 2010 1:30pm PDT El Presidente will return next year with a few new tricks up his sleeve in a new entry in the island republic simulator series Tropico, publisher Kalypso Media announced today.

Helmed by Tropico 3 developer Haemimont Games, Tropico 4 will feature a new campaign of twenty missions across ten maps. Other shiny newness includes twenty buildings such as "Stock Exchange, Shopping mall, Aqua Park and a Mausoleum to El Presidente," six disasters including "volcanoes, droughts and tornadoes," a Council of Ministers and trading with other nations. Plus, ah, Facebook and Twitter integration.

Tropico 4 is due in the second quarter of 2011. While only a PC edition is confirmed so far, Kalypso promises that "News on a possible console version of Tropico 4 will be made available soon." Tropico 3 was released on both PC and Xbox 360.
