Classic Scrolling Shooter 'Raptor: Call of the Shadows' Lands on GOG
by Alice O'Connor, Aug 10, 2010 7:00am PDTThe celebrated vintage scrolling shooter Raptor: Call of the Shadows has taxied onto digital distributor Good Old Games, slightly updated in a $5.99 '2010 Edition'.
Cygnus Studios' 1994 shareware superstar has been revamped with "improved graphics and native support for higher resolutions," says GOG. If you don't enjoy the somewhat crude upscaling and filtering, however, you can have the original graphics.
As every broke mid-Nineties PC Gamer who relied on shareware collections and magazine cover disks for their fix of new games knows, Raptor was--then, at least--an enjoyable scrolling shooter with new weapons and tech upgrades to save for and buy.

Getting that auto cannon really helped.
As for me, instant buy. Good memories playing this with my brother and family friends during social gatherings (we were like 10 years old).
