'The Conduit' Developer High Voltage Lays Off 25
by Alice O'Connor, Aug 05, 2010 10:30am PDTHigh Voltage Software--developer of The Conduit as well as its upcoming sequel Conduit 2 and the co-op horror shooter The Grinder--has laid off 25, IGN reports.
"I can confirm that High Voltage Software has reduced some of our staffing based on our current production requirements and predictions of what is needed for the remainder of 2010," a High Voltage representative told the site.
"We are sad to have to say goodbye to these employees and friends, but these changes are necessary to bring our organization to a healthy operational size."
Having been delayed due to a jump to PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in addition to the original platform of Wii, The Grinder is now targeted for October 2011. Conduit 2 is scheduled for release this fall.

-Insane graphical levels
-Morononic development cycles demanded from publishers
All these result in massive teams totally impossible to carry during slow times, this will continue to
happen with increased frequency, thanks Next Gen! To the poster above, thanks to the belief that
this industry is fun and profitable, hack schools continue to crank out 20 year olds with 30,000$ worth
of debt, living with their parents and no sense of self worth so for veterans to find a job vs this
shit companies hiring the kids who will worth 18 hour days and not complain, is VERY hard.
