Worms Reloaded Gets Release Date on PC: August 26

The glorious return of a 2D Worms game to the PC is upon us! Worms Reloaded, announced back in February, will be released on August 26 for the PC through Valve's Steam platform.

Worms! In 2D! On PC!

The game is being developed by Team17 and includes "over 60 single-player missions (including new Warzone Campaign and Bodycount Mode), a fully featured landscape creator, 45+ plus weapons spanning the entire Worms series and a huge currency based customization system - all wrapped up in HD quality visuals."

Pre-orders are now open through Steam and early-adopters will snag a 10% discount, 24-hour early access to the game, and some in-game bonus items.

I remember when worm 2 or something along that time let you customize the sounds and stuff. But some time after that, the series went downhill. They started removing features as they created sequels.

I love worms, but it would have been nice if they actually updated the graphics. They could have at least gave it a 3D look but left it 2D. So the worms would actually be 3D but only walk in one dimension. Or sort of like the Simpsons movie which still looks like it's drawn but it has that 3D lighting effect.

Dam! Last August I was dying for a new game release other than Section 8 and Wolfenstein. Honestly, making a daily show about new video game releases was hell back then. But now, We've got Worms, we've got Elemental, and I've got a broken PC >.<
