  People are not very good at understanding "easy to read."
  
  Probably my quickest read in the last year was Columbine by Dave Cullen. It's a very easy read that describes what exactly happened in detail (including what misled investigators), illustrates the fallout both locally and nationally, and examines what exactly motivated the killers. It's astonishing as a work of reporting, a case-study in culture, and an example of just how the facts are pieced together to get a clear picture of a very confusing incident.
