Alpha Protocol Trailers Introduce Contacts
by Alice O'Connor, Apr 20, 2010 5:40am PDTA pair of new Alpha Protocol trailers introduce grizzled information broker Grigori and the violent Sie, two of the contacts top spy Michael Thorton might work with in the espionage RPG by Obsidian--the studio formed by veterans of Fallout developer Black Isle.
Alpha Protocol is due to finally be released on May 28 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. After that, Obsidian is returning to its roots with Fallout: New Vegas.
The first trailer introduces former Stasi agent Sie. "Seems like she'll do anything for the right price," notes agent Thorton, "especially wetwork. It turns her on." That's good, then. Apparently it's a weakness that he'll need to exploit to get the most out of her. Great.
The second covers Grigori. As he's an old man who's not suggestively slipping out of a skimpy tank top, it's a safe bet that you won't end up indulging his sexual foibles--though you can slam his face into a bar for your own gratification if you fancy.

So far it seems intentionally over-the-top with the cliche writing.
"IN A WORLD where some women inexplicably dress like mercenary whores with stupid pink sunglasses, ONE MAN must do a bunch of random James Bond shit that only works in movies, that if attempted in real life would only get someone shot in the face."
