Win $1 Million by Pitching Perfect MLB 2K10 Game

by Jeff Mattas, Jan 28, 2010 3:40pm PST

2K Sports will reward the first person who pitches a perfect game in either the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 version of Major League Baseball 2K10, the company said today.

Perhaps "reward" is a bit of an understatement. The first player to pitch a perfect game in MLB 2K10 between March 2nd and May 1st will receive a $1,000,000 grand prize, making "America's favorite pastime" even more beloved for one skilled winner.

Why? "Our goal is to celebrate and highlight Major League Baseball 2K10's superior pitching and hitting mechanics this season, while also giving one of our loyal fans the thrilling opportunity to be rewarded with a lot of money," explained VP Jason Argent.

Once the contest begins, players can compete by firing up the "MLB Today" game mode, selecting any of the available team matchups, and choosing, "...the option to participate in the 'Major League Baseball 2K10 contest' that will automatically default to the proper gameplay settings according to the official gameplay rules." Player entries must also be recorded with a camera or digital video recorder, and submitted on a DVD. More information will soon be available on the MLB 2K10 official contest page.

Only PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions are eligible for the competition, and participants will also need to be connected to the PlayStation Network or Xbox LIVE, respectively. You'll also need to be at least 18 years old to compete, and unfortunately, residents of AZ, CT, MD, ND, and VT aren't eligible to participate.

Develped by Visual Concepts, Major League Baseball 2K10 comes out for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS, and Sony PSP on March 2.
