Firefox 3.6 tab behavior

The new behavior is like Chrome. If you open a new tab, it opens it immediately to the right of the current tab rather than at the end of all the open tabs. If you're like me, you want to kill this feature with fire.

Open Firefox. Type about:config in the address bar. Agree to their stupid warning. Search for:

browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent

Double-click it to set it to false. Takes effect immediately.

I saw this posted recently about the RCs but not today about the final version. Thought I'd spread the love.

Civilization 4 PitBoss Shackbattle 2010

Quick update for anyone checking my post history for news. Yes, we are still going to play, and yes, I am still out of town. I haven't been at home for more than a few hours in a week and I won't have any time to work on the final organization steps until Saturday at the earliest. Let's just play it safe and push back the start until next Sunday, January 31. That will give me time to figure out leaders, shake out who's playing, and announce the start in time for people to not miss it.

They keep saying wii mature games don't sell on wii. If they made an actual good one. Mandworks is ok but repetitive as fuck. Good games sell well whatever the platform is. Stop complaining that crappy mature titles don't sell.

Cameron: This was right at the beginning. . . . I had gotten fired off of "Piranha II" after a few days, so I kind of don't count that. So John Daly of Hemdale is financing "Terminator" . . . and we were literally a few days from starting and I was very prepared. I had everything storyboarded. I was ready to go. . . . Daly sort of reads the script a few days before we start shooting and he wants to have a story conference. . . . That's the one film that didn't evolve during the process because there was no time. There was just bare bones, 42 days and everything was exactly the way I had sort of drawn it out ahead of time. It was the most prepared of any film I'd ever gone into. And he wants to have a story conference . . .

"I want to talk about this guy who comes from this other planet." And we said, "What other planet? He comes from the future." . . . I had been with the prop guy earlier in the day and I had been looking at the props and I liked this .45 automatic and I took it with me -- empty gun -- in fact, it wouldn't even fire, it was a prop gun. It was a real weapon, it just had the barrel stoppered. . . . So I go in and I sit down in front of Daly's desk and he says, "Yes, I want to talk about this man that comes from the future and I don't really understand this and that about the story." And I -- it just was like a flash. I just opened [my] briefcase, I took the script out, set it on his desk. I took the .45 out, I set it on top of the script. I said, "I am prepared to discuss anything. . . ." He said, "You can't do that! I'm the producer!" I said, "I'm not doing anything." And he fled the room and we shot the movie exactly as it was written.

So my MIcrosoft Natural 4000 keyboard just arrived and I really like it -- super comfortable and quiet -- although it's going to take a little time to retrain my fingers. Only downside is that the spacebar is really stiff right now, and a quick Google reveals that this is a common problem with this model. Ugh.

Hah, after over twenty years of gaming, bought my first high-dpi mouse, the RX1000. Jeesh it felt weird at first, even more for the fact the led light is invisible!?!? WTF? With the old regular Logitech, I could lift it and move back to a better wrist position without the cursor moving. With this one, it still keeps tracking even though it's in the frickin' air!?!

Crazy stuff. I like it.

Eve Online discussion.

I am thinking of trying this game. I enjoyed old space games such as Trade Wars 2002, Elite, and Privateer. I enjoyed old MMOs such as Ultima Online. I never got into Eve because I was busy with other things when it launched.

How is the new expansion, "Dominion"? What Shacker corps are there? Is anyone here in Goonswarm other than Majuju and Link.? Do you have to have an account at SA to join goonswarm, or is the rec of a member good enough these days? How easy is it to level skills while offline (ie, I heard you can queue skill training)? How is the commodity market... like, could I just trade all day and make zillions of ISK, and do that as my main career in-game? How long does it take to train up a brand new character to the level where you can effectively pilot Titans, Supercarriers, etc? 3 months? 1 year? How easy is it to just hop on and play for 1 hour and actually get something useful done? Or do you need to spend 4+ hours a night to actually make money and gain skills?

And for those of you who quit Eve... why did you quit?

My primary WD Raptor SATA 1.5 10k died last night. I had my hand hovering over some OCZ SSD on newegg and my friend at work kept telling me no, no no... no nono. NO. ...for some reason I listened and got a Velociraptor to replace it, since SATA II spec is out etc.

Ok, Shack im getting irate over something right now and i have a question.

My girl got her income tax today and she went down to Cingular to get her cellular plan reactivated. They told her she owed $1500 f'n dollars to get her phone turned back on. Its been off for over a month, and she has been using a prepaid phone.

They are also charging her $400+ for the past month that her phone has been turned off for overage?

They also told her that while her phone was turned off (you couldnt call in or out on it) she was still being charged.

She owed $317 when they cut her phone off and now its up to $1500 a month later and the phone service hasnt even been activated.

They are not going to do anything about it and say its her fault because she used the minutes... like i said shes been using a prepaid ever since her phone got cut off around a month ago.

Who do you talk to in order get BS like this straightened out? Cingular isnt helping anything.

it appears my WRT54-GL is dying, should I replace it with the same or get something newer? I never bothered loading any programs on it or anything, I just need it for the wife's laptop, I just want something simple that works with a good signal. Should I bother with getting N or that range-booster? I don't really know too much about them...

imagine if valve released the next L4D installment with Natal compatibility?
Would still need a controller for the gun but you could shove zombies, use a med pack, help someone up by actually doing it.
