Dragon Age 'Ostagar' DLC on PC, Xbox 360 Today (Update: Delayed Again)
by Chris Faylor, Jan 13, 2010 9:10pm PSTUpdate: And just like that, the "Return to Ostagar" add-on has been removed from Xbox Live, with BioWare's Chris Priestly explaining:
This morning a title update on the Xbox 360 for Dragon Age: Origins was made available in preparation for the release of Return to Ostagar. This title update introduced a previously undetected issue that causes specialization classes to not work correctly in Dragon Age: Origins. We are removing Return to Ostagar from Xbox Live until the issue is resolved and are recommending that you do not download the title update. If you have already performed the update, we apologize for this and are working hard to ensure a fix is available as soon as possible.
No word yet on how this affects the PC and PlayStation 3 DLC. Thanks valael.
Original: After suffering a last-minute delay earlier this month, the "Return to Ostagar" downloadable add-on for Dragon Age: Origins is now available on Xbox 360, with developer BioWare claiming it'll hit PC "later today" and PlayStation 3 "soon."
Sold at 400 Microsoft Points / 400 BioWare Points / $4.99, "Return to Ostagar" sees players travel back to the spot "where the Grey Wardens were nearly wiped out," accruing new items and "a second chance to add Dog to your party" along the way.
To trigger the quest, you'll want to "journey to Bann Loren's Lands along the Bannorn's northwest border" after the village of Lothering section and look for the lone survivor.
In addition to micro-expansions for the RPG, BioWare is readying a major expansion dubbed "Awakening,"
which continues the story and will run $40 come March 16.
