Aliens vs. Predator Trailer Talks Multiplayer

Aliens vs. Predator's inter-species multiplayer is given the talking heads treatment by senior producer Dave Brickley and assorted UK games journalists in a new trailer.

Modes touched on include deathmatch, team deathmatch, four-player coop 'Survivor' mode and 'Predator Hunt,' where eight marines are stalked by a single predator.

Coming from Rebellion--developer of the original Alien versus Predator--and published by SEGA, AvP is due out on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in February 2010.

Man this game is seriously shaping up. A few months ago and i would have laughed you off the face of the earth. Now im seriously considering buyin this. Of course after i try it for myself. Predator mode h as been redone in many games as mods and such, but no one does it better than the makers themselves.

What worries me is that I didn't see anyone playing the game in the video with a Mouse/Keyboard. Furthermore, the video clearly was shot on a console (the jerky movements around corners is the dead giveaway there). So we're supposed to assume ala Borderlands that somehow the PC version will be decent? I'm not so sure anymore.

Show us a trailer being played on PC and I'll resume my previously high level of enthusiasm for this cool franchise. I'm not someone who distrusts Rebellion's credentials as their original version of this game (on PC) was amazing. I just get leery these days when all the marketing crap only shows gamers fumbling around a FPS with crappy gamepad controls. :(

Can someone explain to me why people are still excited about this game? You're just setting yourself for dissapointment. Yes, the original was decent, but that was a decade ago, and everything this developer has done since then has varied between mediocre and terrible. Add in the fact that most previews have mentioned that the screenshots released are bullshots to a level akin to Haze and that the gameplay is frustrating and I don't see why people are still going crazy for it.

I hope this game turns out awesome, but I'm extremely cautious about it. Rebellion did make some good games but this company has for a while been just porting games the gameboy, psp, wii, and such. And the actual games they made themselves recently were Shellshock 2 and Rogue Warrior

Where is "Last man Standing?" Man I hope they have that...

For some reason AVP2 did not have it -- despite it being the best most fun game mode of AVP1

Everyone but one person starts as a marine/human with the single person starting as an Alien. Every time the Alien kills a marine, they respawn as another Alien.

Eventually it gets down to just a single human/marine alive (everyone else is Aliens) and once that last man standing is killed -- game restarts with the last man becoming the First Alien.

Man, I played that game for hours. It was sooo much fun! As soon as it gets down to just a couple marines Vs multiple Aliens it was always pretty intense!

I can't wait for this game. I loved the original. I'm glad they mentioned a focus on developing a strong single player, because that was what I liked best in the original. I don't have enough quick twitch fibres for the multiplay.
