Star Wars: The Old Republic Footage Shows Off Imperial Agent Combat Tactics

Further detailing the Imperial Agent, the sixth known class for Star Wars: The Old Republic, developer BioWare and publisher LucasArts have unleashed a few brief clips of the operative's ranged combat tactics in action. First up, the energy shield:

As before, there's still no word as to when the anticipated PC MMO--BioWare's first--will launch or what business models it will use, though beta signups are open.

I have "hopes" for this game, but those videos don't do anything to help them. It really looks pretty bland. Hope the story and world make up for it.

This looks like 20fps and the animations are really poor. WTF?
Orbit bombardment?
This looks like potatoes dropped from balcony, who would waste time to bomb 2 people from orbit with small crappy grenades. Words "orbit bombardment" carry some kind of weight, you would think "oh shit they are gonna evaporate whole city or even country from orbit" and then you see this...
Even AC-130 ground-attack gunship usage looks more impressive than this fart from orbit.
What a joke.

I still don't really get how laser emissions from the weapons and light sabers do not instantly kill or severely wound an enemy. What kind of excuse are they using ? Midi-chlorians everywhere?

I've only watched by people KOTOR and various MMOs, but after playing Fallout 3 and Mass Effect I am starting to think that Bioware really should have gone with a next gen KOTOR game. Easy money in the bank. They are pouring a ton of cash into TOR from what I hear and then they're going to also have to deal with all the ongoing support costs. KOTOR would have been the smarter move.

That's a pretty tame orbital bombardment. Looks like a storm trooper tripped, accidentally kicked a few missiles out of the bay, and they fell on some poor dudes.

With so much ranged DPS in this game, I wonder how they'll differentiate all of the unique class abilities. This isn't WoW, where cartoony splashes of color easily define each spell. Every video I've seen of this game has had monotonous-sounding blaster fire from generic looking rifles. That could get old quick.
